Photo-based case study. The cargo photographs are genuine; the route and logistics narrative below are reconstructed because the original shipment details are unavailable.
Cargo & brief
A compact Volvo excavator is photographed with its boom folded, blade lowered and bucket supported on the trailer.
The handling challenge
The cab and compact rear body do not by themselves define the transport size. The boom, bucket and hydraulic thumb form part of the complete envelope, and their position needs to remain consistent through the road, ocean and onward-transit stages.
Route & delivery plan
The reconstructed lane starts in United States and ends in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It combines U.S. road collection and an ocean leg with onward multimodal transit through a regional gateway. The destination is inland: the brief includes the onward transit stage rather than presenting it as an ocean port.
Preparation & handover
The handover brief brings together cargo dimensions, condition photographs, attachment or accessory details and the unloading arrangement. Loose items need a separate inventory. Those practical details allow a comparable shipment to be quoted around the actual equipment and the access available at both ends.
